Perkins

Perkins

This small development of elderly persons bungalows is unusual in that it was named to mark the community work of two remarkable people, Hetti Perkins who was a member of Kennington Parish Council for 32 years from 1959 to 1991 (Chairman from 1974 to 1983) and Ted Perkins who was first elected to the Parish Council in 1954 and is still serving a record term to date of 50 years. Mr Perkins was Chairman of the Council from 1962 to 1974. As with all the other Villagers commemorated by name it is impossible due to space to include more than a brief flavour of their various local works.
