Oxford Greenways Project – public engagement on initial proposals

Email received from Oxfordshire County Council by the council on 25 February 2025:
I would like to bring to your attention that last week we launched an engagement exercise on the Oxford Greenways Project, a joint collaboration between Oxfordshire County Council, Oxford City Council and the University of Oxford to develop a masterplan of cycle routes connecting Oxford to nearby towns, villages, economic and leisure destinations.

The consultation page is https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/oxford-greenways, with feedback open until 18 March 2025.
We also issued a press release that contains some further details about the project: https://news.oxfordshire.gov.uk/new-walking-and-cycling-routes/

Some of you, or residents within the parish, may have already spotted the news. I apologise for not having written earlier or provided early notice.

One of the 6 proposed new “greenways” runs partly through your area – this is Corridor 3 (Boars Hill Greenway).
Please note there may be other routes proposed in surrounding parishes, as well as other “planned routes” (ie not part of this new project, but previously committed routes to be progressed by the County Council or through new development sites). Equally, we will be happy to consider proposals for additional greenway routes to add to our masterplan.

We would appreciate if you can help us spread the information with potentially interested residents.
If you have any questions about the project, or need some more time (beyond 18 March) to consider the proposals and submit a response, please get in touch with my colleague Ayesha Weerappulige (cc’d) and myself.

Kind regards,

Joaquim Muntané
Technical Lead (Movement and Place)
