Kennington logoThames Water would like to give the local residents the opportunity to visit the flood alleviation works being carried out at the end of Kennington Road near Kennington Pools.  Between 5:30 and 7:30pm on Wednesday 12 June Thames Water invite you to have a look around the site.  Rachel Grove, who is organising this visit will need to know who is coming, so if you are interested please e mail her at

Safety clothing such as hard hat and hi-vis jackets will be provided, however, they ask everyone attending to be wearing steel toe-capped footwear and will not be able to admit anyone not appropriately dressed. They will also need to give everyone a site induction before they are accompanied around.

There seems to have been some defacing on some bus shelters recently, which has been reported to the police – if you do see anything please let a councillor know of it.

The Council has recently requested a tree surgeon to carry out a tree inspection of the trees around the perimeter of the Playfield Road playing field.  Results of which will necessitate some work being carried out within the next few months, with more maintenance being necessary during next year and beyond.

The Council has written to the Vale of White Horse District Council with regard to the dumped rumble and general fly tipping at the entrance to Red Bridge Hollow.

The Manor Grove road sign, which was severely damaged after a vehicle collided with it has now been replaced.
