A34 Didcot to Kennington (Oxfordshire) – Resurfacing
I am writing to advise that Kier Highways Ltd, on behalf of Highways England, will be resurfacing sections of the A34 north and southbound carriageways, to ensure the network remains in a safe and serviceable condition. We will also utilise these closures to carry out litter picking, cleaning of road signs and renewal of road markings.
Highways England undertakes the majority of resurfacing works on the Strategic Road Network using a lower noise material. This material is thinner than conventional Hot Rolled Asphalt and has qualities which reduces noise levels.
The series of works are being scheduled to start in late-February 2017* and are expected to be completed by the end of March 2017* (Monday to Friday only). In order to carry out the work as efficiently and safely as possible, sections of the A34 north and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight, when traffic flows are at their lowest.
|27 February for eight nights*||A34 southbound from the A415 Marcham Interchange to the A4185 Chilton Junction||A clearly signed diversion will be in place from the Botley Interchange, the A420, A338 to Wantage, then east back towards Chilton/Milton|
|7 March for eight nights*||A34 northbound from the A4130 Milton Interchange to the A415 Marcham Interchange||A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4130, B4017 via Steventon and Drayton and Marcham Road|

Confirmed dates and times for all the closures will be displayed in advance on signs along the A34.
