As some of you may be aware, the play area at Forest Side, has had to be closed, duje to safety concerns, as the timber has become rotten and due to last winter’s weather and the relentless damp and weather conditions the rotting has increased. As a result of this a Working Party was created who has been working on 4 options to rebuild this very popular play area with the following aims in mind:
To provide a new, exciting play area for the children of Kennington
To offer a range of equipment, including opportunities for sliding, swinging, rocking and climbing
To cater for a wider age range, from babies and toddlers to teenagers
To seek feedback from residents on the design
To deliver a facility that will be well-used and last a long time
To provide free, inclusive play provision and opportunities to socialise for young people in our village.
There will be plans of the options in the foyer of the Village Centre – these plans can also be seen below.
Members of the Working Party will be at the Village Centre on Saturday 9 November 2024 between 10:30 and 12 noon to answer any questions. Comments can be submitted by email to or in the comment box in the Village Hall by 30 November 2024. You could also complete the google form by following the QR code that can be found in the document below.
