A34 Botley Flyover – Bridge Refurbishment

During October and November 2019, we successfully completed work to replace the waterproofing material, carry out concrete repairs and replace two of the three joints on the bridge which carries the A34 over B4044 Botley Road.

Regrettably, we have one final joint to replace. To enable this work to be finished as well as renewing some road markings and LED studs, we will need to close the A34 northbound carriageway from the A423 Hinksey Hill junction to the A420 Botley Interchange overnight on Thursday 6 February and Friday 7 February 2020 (9pm to 6am).

A further closure overnight on Monday 10 February 2020 has been planned as a contingency, should work not be completed due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather – please check the yellow signs placed in advance at the junction for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.

A signed diversion will be in place via the Oxford ring-road.  Access to North Hinksey and South Hinksey will be maintained via the A34 southbound carriageway only.

These works will generate some additional noise; however, we shall endeavour to minimise this as much as possible. I would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance or inconvenience caused by the works.

If you have any questions, or if you’d like to know about our work please contact us on 0300 123 5000 or email
