Parish News – May 2019

Vacancies on the Parish Council

Due to the uncontested parish council election, there will be three vacancies on the council from 7th May 2019. We hope that these vacancies will be filled by co-option at the parish council meeting on 13th June. If you care about where you live and are passionate about your community, we need you. If you are interested in standing, please send an expression of interest by Monday 10th June to or in writing to 93 Kennington Road, Kennington, Oxford OX1 5PE.

Best Kept Garden Competition

The best kept garden competition will be held on Saturday 22nd June, with preliminary judging taking place a few days earlier.

Community Litter Pick

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the litter pick on 27th April, and to the Apple Café for keeping everyone refreshed afterwards!

At the April meeting, Kennington Parish Council awarded Friends of St Swithun’s School (FOSS) a grant of £48 towards the cost of running the Annual Fun Run, which they have taken over this year.

If you are interested in attending a workshop on learning how to use the defibrillators in the village, please contact me. I hope to organise another date soon.
