The Leader of Vale of White Horse District Council has written to the Leader of Oxfordshire County Council encouraging her to contact Government and ask that they assist Oxfordshire in moving forward with devolution and local government reorganisation at the earliest opportunity, for the benefit of the communities in the Vale.
Responding to the Government’s White Paper on English Devolution that was published last Monday, Cllr Bethia Thomas wrote to county council leader Cllr Liz Leffman, setting out that moving forwards positively and quickly would bring clarity to local residents, businesses, partners and council staff.
Cllr Thomas explained that “delays will only serve to create instability, confusion and uncertainty, all of which would be barriers to good decision-making and our collective financial stability.”
The letter is available on the council’s official correspondence page on its website.
