In July a small group from the Kennington History Society visited the Oxford Bus Museum at Long Hanborough. It is most interesting having a wide selection of buses from the very early charabangs of the post-World War I period up to the present, with many local examples. We were also able to visit the Morris Car Museum which occupies the same site, again much of local interest. If anyone has not paid these museums a visit, they are well worth it.
The Society does not meet in August.
There are still some vacancies on the coach trip to Winchester on the 24th of September, details available from any member of the Committee, including myself. The cost for non members is £12, very good value for visiting a most interesting place.
On September the 21st we shall be having a change to the advertised programme with Timothy Walker who is known to be a very good speaker giving a talk on the history of the Botanic Gardens in Oxford. We are looking forward to that.
