The Parish Council has recently received concerns from residents about the future of the village’s playing fields.
The Parish Council is aware of these issues and the Chairman would like to reiterate what he said to a concerned resident earlier this week “I can assure you that the Parish Council will be objecting in the strongest possible manner to the proposal.
“However as the Parish Council is the owner of the Playfield Road playing field, I think it most unlikely that it would ever consider selling it for development. Unfortunately, the Council only leases the Forest Side area from St John’s college and therefore it cannot make the same promise about that field, however should it ever come on the market, I would hope that Kennington Parish Council would do its utmost to purchase it”.
