Parish News – February 2018

New Parish Councillor

The members co-opted a resident to the vacancy following the resignation of Paddy Landau earlier this year.   There were three applicants and after a vote the resident who was successful was Amanda Jempson. The Council would like to welcome Amanda and hope she will enjoy her time on Kennington Parish Council.  Many thanks to the unsuccessful applicants for taking the time to put their names forward and the Council hopes that this will not put them off coming forward again next time.

Defibrillator Training

The parish council would like to organise more defibrillator training courses for residents. If you are interested in attending a workshop, please contact the Clerk.

Best Kept Garden Competition

The parish council is hoping to run the Best Kept Garden competition again this year, and wondered if there are any residents who would like to be involved in its organisation. Please contact the Clerk if you are interested.

Grants

At its January meeting, the Council granted £120 to Kennington Whist Club that meets each month at the Village Centre.

The parish council also awarded £250 to the Oxfordshire Association for the Blind towards their work supporting local visually impaired people.
