Carols around the Tree
Thank you all who attended the Carols around the Tree in December. Although the weather was not on our side, there was a great atmosphere inside the church. Thank you too for your generosity, as you raised £145 for Kennington’s Baby and Toddler Group, which will help fund some new toys for the children.
Christmas Tree Recycling
If you had a real tree this Christmas and you’re a garden waste customer, Biffa will collect it on Friday 11 January – just leave it by your brown bin (but please not in it, as it’s tricky for the crews to get it out). If you’re not a garden waste customer, Christmas tree recycling has been arranged at Playfield Road and Forest Side playing field car parks. Please make sure your tree is there for collection by Thursday 10 January.
Dog Fouling
There have been reports of increased dog fouling, particularly around St Swithun’s School and on Playfield Road playing field. Please remember to clean up after your pets – in an emergency, dog bags are provided at Forest Side and Playfield Rd playing field car parks. If you witness someone failing to clean up after their dog, make a note of anything that might help identify them and report to
Grants
At the December parish council meeting, the Cricket Club were awarded a grant of £600 to help with their annual hire fees.
Defibrillator Workshop
The council is planning to organise another defibrillator workshop, which will be free of charge for all Kennington residents. If you are interested in attending, please contact me to add your name to the list.
Happy New Year
On behalf of the Council may I wish you a very happy and healthy 2019.
