Before June’s Parish Council meeting two members of the Vale of White Horse District Council Planning department gave a presentation to the Councillors on current planning legislation, including the enforcement aspects of planning.
They were very keen on explaining the changes of carrying out their role and commended the Councillors to use the Planning Portal and the Interactive House. The address of this website is shown below:
This national website will help you to ascertain whether you need planning permission or whether your proposed falls into the Permitted Development category. They also explained that if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find various “Interactive guides” including the Interactive House. This gives information about when planning permission is necessary. It looks like a very interesting and helpful tool.
At its June meeting, the Council granted £1000 to the 40th Oxford (Kennington) Sea Scout Group as a contribution toward much needed work planned to be carried out on the Group’s Hall, kitchen and car park.
The Council also made a grant to the Kennington Village Hall Committee in order that again much needed safety surface repair work at the very popular play area outside the village hall could be carried out.
