Parish News – July 2018

Litter Pick

The parish council has organised a litter pick on the morning of Saturday 7th July. We will be focusing on the north end of Kennington Road, but if there are enough volunteers, other areas of the village can be targeted too. If you are interested in getting involved, please let me know as soon as possible.

Flower Baskets

Thank you very much to all the volunteers who have helped with the village flower baskets this year, with particular thanks to MacIntyre, who have been involved for the first time this year. I am sure you will agree that the flower baskets look lovely.

Best Kept Garden Competition

Final judging will take place on Saturday 14th July, with trophies being awarded to the best kept front garden; best hanging basket or planter and the best business premises. There is no need to enter, as all front gardens will be judged from the road side.

Grants

The parish council has awarded a grant of £50 to Kennington Code Club, which teaches children aged 9-11 coding skills.
