The members co-opted five people to the vacancies following the election. There were nine applicants and after a vote the five people who were successful were Rosemary Aldgate; Sylvia Buckingham; Jerry Patterson; Paul Robinson and Colin Smith. The Council would like to welcome these new members and hope they will enjoy their time on Kennington Parish Council. Many thanks to the unsuccessful applicants for taking the time to put their names forward and the Council hopes that this will not put them off coming forward again next time.

At June’s meeting, the Council awarded £100 to the Endeavour Cub Park to enable them to open up the pack to as many children as possible in Kennington and the surrounding area and to offer exciting and challenging activities to all.

Residents at Bagley Close are concerned as to the damage that delivery lorries and other work vehicles are doing to the footpaths and road. The Council would ask residents who are carrying out any works to their property to ensure contractors respect the footpaths etc and if any damage is caused it is expected that this be made good for the benefit of everyone. The Council thanks these residents in advance.

Concern has also been raised regarding the time scale of repair to Bagley Wood Road and its subsidence issues. Oxfordshire County Highways has informed the Council that works to correct this part of Bagley Wood Road are planned to take place during this summer.
