Election Year for Parish Council

Would you like to make a positive difference in Kennington?

The parish council needs enthusiastic and committed individuals to influence the decisions affecting our village. Ongoing projects include:

To become a parish councillor, you must be:

Councillors should be able to attend meetings regularly, and represent the views of the community. The council aims to improve the quality of life for those that live, work or visit the area.

You could be just what the Parish Council is looking for.  On the website you will find a job description which may help you understand more of what is expected from a Parish Councillor. 

Nomination forms need to be submitted to the Returning Officer at Vale of White Horse District Council by 4.00pm on Wednesday 3rd April 2019.

Nomination papers together with guidance notes will be made available by the District Council by mid-March.  The Parish Council will have copies and you will also be able to get them from the elections office of the Vale of White Horse District Council or from its website.

If you would like to stand for election as a councillor, or know of someone who would like to make a difference to the community, please contact the Clerk for more information.

The parish council is seeking councillors from a variety of backgrounds – there are no qualifications necessary, but commitment and enthusiasm are essential.

Picnic benches

The picnic benches in the play area and adult gym at Playfield Rd playing field were looking quite tired, so have been replaced with recycled plastic benches ready for the warmer weather.

Waste tours

Tours of the food waste facility at Wallingford and the general waste (black bin) facility at Ardley have been booked throughout 2019. If you are interested in going, please contact me for dates and to book a space.
