Kennington Memorial Field
Join Oxford Preservation Trust on Saturday 29 October in the Kennington Memorial Field for their autumn “scrub bash”. The session, which will be led by the Abingdon Green Gym, will be from 9.30 – 12.30pm.
No previous experience is necessary. Wear stout shoes or wellies and old clothes. Please bring gardening gloves and secateurs or loppers if you have them. Other hand tools will be provided. They will be cutting back the brambles and thorn scrub and having a big bonfire so there’s plenty to do to suit all ages and abilities. They’d be delighted if you can join them for some good exercise outside in convivial company.
Defibrillator Awareness Course
The Council has organised a further Awareness Training session with regard to using the public defibrillators. This session is being held on Saturday 22 October starting at 10:00a.m.and will last around 1½ hours.
If you are interested in attending please give me a ring or email me.
At its September meeting, the Council granted £500 to the Friends of Kennington Library as a contribution toward the activities arranged throughout the year.
The Council also made a grant of £100 to Victim Support. In 2015/16 Victim Support Thames Valley supported over 165 residents within its Community Programmes. In current year it is on target to increase this figure again.
