Parish News – September 2016

What a busy summer the Council has had, even though there has been no meeting – maintenance work has been carried out on the laid hedge at Playfield Road playing field, the new Playing Fields Committee has met several times, working on upping the standard of both pavilions; and by the time of publishing, the BMX track at Forest side will have been refurbished.

Make a fuss about the buses

There have been complaints made to the Parish Council regarding buses not turning up.  The Council has contacted Oxford Bus Company, , who advise us that they do take complaints seriously, investigating each one.  The Parish Council would suggest that if you have an issue or particular complaint that you write to Oxford Bus Company giving them details of date, time and the problem/issue. Below is Oxford Bus Company’s postal and email addresses.

There has been an increase in fly tipping at Forest Side and at Kendal Copse, if you do see any rubbish tipped anywhere in the village please contact the Vale of White Horse District Council’s Environment Warden Colin Marshall at

Or telephone him on 01235 422159 – if he is not in the office it will be transferred to him mobile.

Senseless damage

Whilst not of epidemic proportions the village does from time to time experience occasional senseless damage. Two particular examples are the uprooting of a litter bin at Playfield Road and the relocating, for reasons best known to t

themselves, of a bench in the Forest Side playing field.

Both these areas are well trafficked, particularly by dog walkers, and the Council would be most appreciative if anyone notices anything untoward happening if they could report it to the police.
