Sandford Hydro – Update Nov 2016

Update – Piling Works at Sandford Lock

We are sorry for any inconvenience experienced because of the building works for the Sandford Hydro project.
The current piling work that is particularly noisy is expected to be completed during the week commencing 21 November, assuming all goes to plan.

It generally takes place on weekdays from about 7.30am to 4.30–5pm. Work is weather dependent so we cannot be more specific about timings, but no work will be done on weekends.

Our contractors are doing what they can to minimize the noise, for example using vibrations to pile wherever the ground conditions allow (rather than pushing them in). Piles are needed in slightly different locations within the site, and the weather clearly affects where and how far the noise travels, so it is hard to predict what the impact will be precisely.

Keep up-to-date about the project and the benefits that it is expected to generate by visiting this page of our website: http://www.lowcarbonhub.org/sandford-hydro-project-updates – we will add project news as we go along!
