Volunteer: ‘One who enters into, or offers for, any service of their own free will’
The meaning above is the standard dictionary version but volunteers mean much more to the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance (TVACAA).
Without volunteers TVACAA would not be able to attend as many fundraising events or raise the awareness needed to meet the financial requirements to operate the local Air Ambulance for Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire 365 days per year.
TVACAA needs your help to ensure the Air Ambulance can continue to provide a life saving service to your community. With no central Government or National Lottery funding, we rely on the local communities throughout Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to keep this emergency service operational 365 days of the year. We are looking for individuals who like meeting new people, trying new things and want to join a fantastic social network – by volunteering a few hours a week to their local Air Ambulance. We provide training and pay all reasonable expenses, so you will never be out of pocket, and with 200 events attended in Oxfordshire throughout 2011, there will be an event to suit everyone’s tastes.
Without our volunteers, we simply couldn’t do what we do. For more information about TVACAA please visit www.tvacaa.org or contact Eleanor Green, Oxfordshire Fundraising Manager, on the details below.
