Due to vehicle breakdowns this week, our waste collection crews haven’t been able to finish some of their rounds. This has affected Grove and Chilton in particular, but it may have a knock-on effect to collections for the rest of the week.
The waste collection crews are going back to catch up so our message to residents is that we apologise for the inconvenience – if the bins in their street aren’t emptied on their normal collection day this week, they should leave them out until they’re emptied.
We are working with Biffa to minimise the disruption. We will have a brand new fleet of vehicles in the summer, which means breakdowns will be much less likely to delay waste collections.
