Last month we were treated to a splendid talk by David Holt on Vincent Van Gogh the painter. It was as usual well presented and full of interesting detail. For example I had forgotten that he only sold one painting in his lifetime, ironic given the millions they now sell for. As the end of the talk we were told that he was probably murdered (quite casually, and possibly by a younger person) as the locals wanted him gone and while trying to scare him, over did it. So he probably did not commit suicide at all.
At the time of writing we are looking forward to a talk on Radley yeoman, gentry and land by Richard Dudding a former County Officer.
We have now finalised the list of speakers and talks for 2016. It covers a wide range and should be most interesting.
