Interim Report – Playfield Road Pavilion Feasibility Study Public Consultation

Thank you very much to everyone who has taken the time to comment on the proposals to rebuild Playfield Road pavilion. There are some themes which have emerged:

Children’s Play Area

The proposal is to relocate the current equipment along the southern boundary, so it is the other side of the gate to the memorial field, and the adult gym equipment will be moved further along. The current plan is to reuse as much of the existing equipment as possible, but the possibility of adding new items will be explored. The Cricket Club have assured the council that the play area would be a safe distance away from the cricket pitch.

Storage of equipment for the Football Club and Cricket Club

It is proposed that a new garage facility with electricity and water supply will be built in the opposite corner, near where the current storage shed is located. This will provide adequate storage for the pitch maintenance and line marking equipment. The Cricket Club have advised that a portable scorebox will meet their needs.

Outdoor Toilet

This will have dawn to dusk opening, with automatic locking outside of these hours to prevent vandalism and anti-social behaviour. This would be cleaned regularly, and the cleanliness would be monitored.

Facilities / equipment

There is a bike rack proposed on the plans at the front of the building, near the bin store. Internal equipment will be decided in the future, and the comments and suggestions will be taken into account.

If you have not yet seen the plans, please see the display in the entrance hall of the Village Centre or visit the parish council website.
